About the Role
The Manager in Training (MIT) role is a hands-on development position designed to prepare future Property Managers. You’ll train on-site in DeKalb, IL, learning real-world property operations while working alongside experienced leaders who are invested in your growth.
This role offers a clear career path, structured learning, and opportunities to grow and transfer to other Axiom communities as your career develops.
Pay
$45,760 – $54,000 per year
- Previous property management experience is a plus
- AppFolio Property Management Software experience is a plus
What You Will Learn & Do
- Support daily property operations and office workflows
- Assist with leasing and local marketing efforts
- Work directly with residents and handle questions with professionalism and care
- Walk the community regularly to help maintain strong curb appeal
- Assist with work orders and maintenance follow-up
- Lead tours and welcome new residents to the community
- Learn Fair Housing laws and company policies
- Build leadership and decision-making skills week by week
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Previous property management or related experience preferred
- Strong customer care and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to stay organized and manage time effectively
- Comfortable using computers and property management systems
